Welcome to Grannies.lv !

The NGO Grannies.lv (“Vecmāmiņas.lv”), registration No. 40008178937, is a non-governmental organization (association) from Latvia, established in 2011. Its aim is to unite active seniors and to work in the field of adult education, encouraging older adults to become active citizens and engage in lifelong learning activities.

The main goals of the association Grannies.lv are to:

  • Educate seniors
  • Facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience
  • Actively participate in civic initiatives, charity campaigns, and volunteering

The objectives of the association include:

  • Charity and alternative social care services
  • Protection of human and individual rights
  • Development of civil society
  • Health promotion and social rehabilitation
  • Promoting education
  • Improving the social well-being of the poor and socially vulnerable groups

Grannies.lv offers its members a wide range of social and physical activities, as well as information and counselling in crisis situations – with particular attention to cases involving domestic violence.

The association's activities contribute to the integration of socially excluded older people into society and promote volunteerism across Latvia.

Membership in Grannies.lv is open to able-bodied individuals who have reached the age of majority, submitted an application (approved questionnaire), and are committed to following the association's statutes and actively contributing to the achievement of its objectives.

Accreditation Details

NGO Grannies.lv (Vecmāmiņas.lv) has received Erasmus Plus Staff Mobility KA1 project accreditation. The quality rating is 75 points. The National Agency (VIAA) has approved the application and granted Erasmus accreditation from 1 February 2024 to 31 December 2027, with ID 2023-1-LV01-KA120-ADU-000188971.
